ICAEW Film – “Without Question”

The presentation will commence at 18h30 and will be followed by a cocktail for participants

This is a special screening of ICAEW’s second drama film “Without Question”, an exciting film drama facilitating thought-provoking discussions about how accountants, auditors should act when faced with difficulties.

Following ICAEW’s successful first foray into films with “False Assurance” (shown by ABAF in June 2018), “Without Question” provides an impactful and interesting way to highlight the challenges of directors and professional advisors seeking assurance on difficult issues. It also explores the underestimated importance of effective communication and professional scepticism.

“Without Question” draws out many themes for discussion such as reliance on experts, accounting estimates and confidentiality. It also examines:

• conflicts within a family-owned company;
• the difficult transition to become a listed entity;
• the struggle of founding shareholders with the loss of control; and
• the struggle of new independent directors in asserting control and good governance.

The film will be shown in parts and discussion on the issues that arise will be moderated by ICAEW’s Will Strickland, Senior Manager in the ICAEW Quality Assurance team.
